Davis Life Concepts for Autism Workshop
Melanie is an excellent facilitator.  The time I have spent with her has added value to my life and that of my family.  A life changing course to help understand and support a loved one who is struggling with life concepts.

Davis Reading Programme for Young Learners
The Davis programme has been an amazing thing to do together alongside Melanie.  She is so patient with Robbie and allows him to express himself while guiding him through the Davis tools.  I like how the programme puts the learning back into the child's control by giving them the Focus and Release tools to use, and techniques for mastering the trigger words using their imagination.  I would highly recommend.

Right from the very beginning, we knew that we had made the right choice to bring our daughter to Melanie and join the programme.  The environment was perfect for learning - so calm and caring.  The supporting resources, photos and practical examples have been worth their weight in gold!  Thank you so very much for your time!

Davis Reading Programme for Young Learners
I'm noticing Oscar is interested in reading everything around him - like signs etc which he has never seemed to even notice before. He is much more focused and present. A very chatty and engaged little boy. I'm even getting a breakdown of his day at school - also a first!!  I am really impressed with the difference in him, Melanie!  Thank you for unlocking his gifts. Loving seeing him so happy and confident.

Davis Attention Mastery
I would like to thank you so much for the fantastic work you have done with Sam. I feel the recent work he has done with you has not only reset his focus and enthusiasm  but really helped him to feel positive about his journey ahead and he now heads into the school year, feeling that he both has the tools to succeed and he has also has taken on the personal responsibility to do his best as well.

Davis Attention Mastery
Before I came here I actually thought I was going to fail my first year of NCEA because I had really struggled in school.  But now I am very confident that I can pass this year with all my new tools to help me.

I just did my first set of essay for this semester and i couldn't believe my results. I got a B+ in philosophy and a B in politics. To be able to get a mark that high for my written work felt impossible before the Davis Programme. Thank you for teaching me a new way to deal with my thoughts and reduce my overall stress

We cannot thank you enough for all that you have unlocked for George in his earning by teaching, supporting, encouraging and guiding him through the Davis Dyslexia programme.

I am an IT consultant who works in the software testing aspect of IT; I have built myself a very successful career over about 15 or so years; I have always struggled with reading and writing; although have a great mind for solution and big picture views.

I have just completed your amazing course, with the objective of being able to "get my ideas on paper". Which of course I achieved!!

But I would like to personally thank you for what you created and share with you a couple of the unexpected gifts I have left with:
1. For the first time ever in my life I have become excited about reading (I'm nearly 40 years old!)
2. My handwriting has changed so dramatically my wife did not believe it was mine!

Melanie, who took me through the course, was truly awesome and the results I am seeing have left me speechless!

Again, I really would like to thank you for giving me a whole new way to express myself.

Davis Autism Approach
This programme has helped me to understand the world better.  It has helped me to have a sense of purpose and to understand the meaning of choice.  It is also helping to make my separation anxiety go away. I am becoming a lot more confident.

Davis Autism Approach
My overall experience of the Davis Autism Approach with Melanie was such encouragement and clarity for Isaac and myself.  It is a truly empowering pathway towards a full and satisfying life.  It gives the tools to discover who you are, how to embrace your strengths and overcome the challenges within yourself.  Melanie is very efficient and organised, while being so flexible and accommodating.  Her kindhearted nature and 'can do' attitude makes her such an easy person to work with, and a pleasure to be with.

I have noticed a lot of positive changes in my life. I feel happier within my body and more confident on the outside - so I feel like a totally new me. I feel that all of parts of the program really have helped me and will help me enjoy life and be happy being me in a wonderful, beautiful world with lots of opportunities and experiences to look forward to. I can enjoy living a normal life and see life in all perspectives.  I can’t explain how much it has meant to me and all of my family.

I found the programme great because it has taught me about my brain. I don't feel frustrated when I read anymore.
Zak, April 2014

Davis Dyslexia Correction
I now feel a clarity of who I am and where I am. I had this realisation during my programme that I hadn’t actually been participating in life, but observing it instead. I feel more open, centred, relaxed, real, but most importantly, I feel joy. Now I feel that I can go with the flow and not need to control things. I have a feeling of trust that things are OK and I can just let it be.

Dyslexia isn’t a big problem for me now. When I was doing the course suddenly things made sense to me. Before I couldn’t really make sense of 80% of the work I did at school. Now when I use the techniques that Melanie showed me, it makes it much easier.

Just a quick note to let you know how well Jack is doing. Wow, he is not only reading more and getting it right, but he is applying the tools to other areas in his life and his behaviour has improved so much. It’s so fantastic to have him back again, he was always so well behaved and happy before he started having issues at school, and now that he is able to use his 'gift' properly, he is not so frustrated and angry anymore. THANK YOU for teaching him so well.

Caitlin has already started to plan her speech for this year on how cool it is to have dyslexia. We are thrilled with her progress, she has not stopped reading and her confidence is tenfold, so she is back writing stories again. We can’t speak highly enough of you and the program, even her maths has improved so she is feeling great. It is great to see her enjoying school and no more headaches.

Davis Dyslexia Correction
Dyslexia was something I had never thought would enter my life, simply because I never thought I had dyslexia. It wasn’t until I started studying that it came to the fore. I couldn’t figure out why information wasn’t staying in my head, why I was not seeing words (especially the small ones), and why I kept starting another word half way through the first one.

I was searching through the internet looking for information and I came across Optimum Learning. I looked a bit closer and saw many keywords that stood out for me. Through the guidance of Melanie, I have become calmer and not frustrated, and am now able to read without missing out or misreading words. At the age of 58, Optimum Learning and the Davis Programme has certainly made a big change in my life for the better.

Davis Dyslexia Correction
Melanie Curry was a lifeline to our family when our son Sam (15) was diagnosed with dyslexia. The diagnosis is a double edged sword – it’s a relief to put a name to the problem, but what to do about it is another problem in itself.  Available information is overwhelming and confusing.  Dyslexia conjured up gut wrenching images of illiteracy, frustration and bewilderment.

Melanie was able to steer us through the implications of dyslexia with confidence and humour.

The mere idea that dyslexia is a “learning difference” rather than a “learning problem” coloured our rainbow!  Suddenly, we knew that this was a mountain that we could climb and that the top was in sight!

The night before Sam started his course I lay awake tossing and turning, wondering if we were doing the right thing, subjecting him to this week long intensive brain changing programme.  Would he hate every minute?  Would he be bored? Would he think it uncool?  Fifteen year old boys are hard to fathom at the best of times!

One look at his exhausted by jubilant face when he got home put my fears to rest.  At last, someone understood.  Not only did they understand but they could teach him how to cope with his issues.  “She is so cool” says it all really.

Every dyslexic is different.  The one on one Davis™ Dyslexia programme caters for every individual’s separate issues.   Melanie took Sam on a sympathetic, and sometimes exhausting, journey but he emerged at the other end confident about his future as a learner and more importantly confident about his future as a person.

Part of the course involves a parent or caregiver learning to assist in the ongoing use of the techniques.  Melanie also took the time to make sure that I fully understood the programme and its implications.  She answered all my dumb questions and she laughed with me when I couldn’t (and wouldn’t) do some of the exercises.

Sam is now secure in the knowledge that he has a “tool kit” of strategies to turn to when the going gets tough and we all know that we can turn to Melanie at any time for a helping hand (and such a great smile). Thank you, Melanie

Private Teaching
It is difficult to convey the depth of love and appreciation we feel towards Melanie for her overwhelming dedication to the job. Her commitment to us and the children saw them go from 4 and 6 year olds, to highly confident 9 and 11 year olds.

Melanie always put the children and the job first, and although working from our home could have meant a more informal attitude to schooling, she remained the ultimate professional.

Davis Programme Testimonials

"These procedures have an excellent foundation in learning theory. They use each of the senses for learning and provide for concept integration. The application of a strong mulit-sensory approach provides stimulation of important parts of the brain and facilitatoes long term retention."
Joan Smith, Ed.D. author of You Don't Have to be Dyslexic

"Ron Davis is a revolutionary and profound thinker, and has discovered what history will record as one of the great insights in the fields of learning and how the mind works. This is seminal work, a profound insight into a very real problem."
Thom Hartman, author of ADD, a Different Perception

"We have been particularly pleased with the results of the Davis programme. One visual-spatial learner we sent to a Davis center gained four grade levels in one week, and retained the gain."
Linda Kreger Silverman, Ph.D., author of Upside-Down Brilliance.
